Ricardo Runa - Artistic Director / Dancer
Born in 1991, Professional dancer, graduated from The National Conservatory of Dance in Portugal in 2013, while in the Conservatory worked with choreographers such as Nina Ananiashvili, Frank Andersson, José Luis Vieira, Pompea Santoro. In the season 2013 / 2014 was a guest Principal dancer with Gwinnett Ballet Theatre in Atlanta, Ga. U.S.A under Artistic Direction of Wade Walthall.
As a guest dancer performed the roles of Romeo in Romeo and Juliet Pas de deux, Prince in The Nutcracker, Prince in Cinderella. While in the United States, participated at S.E.R.B.A. (Southeastern Regional Ballet Association Festival) in Montgomery, Alabama where it was offered a full tuition Scholarship to The Rock School in Philadelphia. Some Teachers : Mikhail Zavialov, José Luís Vieira, Ana Cristina Pereira, Wade Walthall, Victoria Leigh, Victor Ullate, Pascale Mosselmans, Yannick Bouquin, Oliver Matz, Pedro Carneiro.
Ken Ossola - Guest Choreographer
Ken Ossola trained as a dancer in Geneva in the Ecole de danse de Genève, directed then by Béatriz Consuelo. In 1989, he joined the NDT II (artistic director: Gerald Tibbs) – the junior troupe of the Netherlands Dance Theatre. In 1992, Ken Ossola switched over to the NDT I, headed by Jiří Kylián. As a member of the original cast, he contributed to many choreographies, among them One of a Kind, Blackbird,Wings of Wax and Bella Figura. In 1999, he left the Netherlands Dance Theatre to carve out a career for himself as a freelance dancer-choreographer.
Aside from his freelance career, he is also setting works from Jiri Kylian in many international ballet companies.
José Luís Vieira- Guest Choreographer
It is part of the faculty of the School of the National Conservatory Dance in Lisbon, since 1994. In 2003 assumed
the Presidency of EDCN, a position he held until 2008. He attended the piano course at the Music School of
the National Conservatory, in Portugal. He studied at the School of Ballet Gulbenkian and George Brown College in Toronto in Canada. He was a founding member of the National Ballet of Portugal under the direction of Armando Jorge,where he danced leading roles in much of the Company's repertoire. He was a soloist of the Scapino Ballet under the direction of Armando Navarro and Nils Christe. He has been guest ballet master at various companies and schools in Europe and the United States of America
Wade Walthall - Guest Choreographer
Artistic Director of Gwinnett Ballet Theatre, Mr. Walthall received his formal dance training under a Ford Foundation Scholarship and Stipend to the School of American Ballet, the official school of the New York City Ballet. Coming directly from his academic training, he joined directly The Dutch National Ballet as a Soloist under the Direction of Rudi Van Dantzig. later then performed inumerous Principal Roles. He was a Principal Guest dancer for one season with the National Ballet of Spain, in 1982 returned to the United States of America to join the Pacific Northwest Ballet as a Principal Dancer where he stayed for 7 years. Mr. Walthall has danced in more than 32 countries and danced with artists such as Rudolf Nureyev, Alexander Gudanov, Wayne Eagling, Merle Parker, Leslie Collier and Karin Kain.
In 1986 Mr. Walthall danced the male lead in the cinematic version of the STOWELL/SENDAK/BALLARD movie: NUTCRACKER: THE MOTION PICTURE.
